Random Wrestling Match Review (February 25, 2012)

Welcome to my Random Wrestling Match Review. Each match I review is randomly selected by using a random number generator to select a number. After getting my random number, I go to my list of 445 wrestling matches on DVD and review the match that has that number. For this review, I selected the number 333. The match I will review is...

I'm going to change my blog name again

I have decided to change the name of this blog again. I don't really like the name "Wrestling Pipe Bombs". Too controversial and unless you are a hardcore wrestling fan, most people probably don't understand why "pipe bombs" is a wrestling term. My new blog name will be Pro Wrestling Smackdown and the name change will probably happen on March 1st. Why Pro Wrestling Smackdown? First, this is a pro wrestling blog and "pro wrestling" is better than just "wrestling" because I'm not a "wrestling" fan. I'm a fan of "pro wrestling" which is sports-entertainment. As for Smackdown, most people think of Friday Night Smackdown, but before the TV show, "Smackdown" was a word The Rock would say a lot and The Rock made it so popular that it might be the only wrestling term in the Merriam Webster Dictionary. So, I like that name a lot better. Also, maybe it will improve my stats because page views at this blog have SUCKED since I changed my name to Wrestling Pipe Bombs. So on Wednesday February 29, 2012, say goodbye to Wrestling Pipe Bombs because when Wednesday bleeds into Thursday and the 29th becomes the 1st, this blog will be known as Pro Wrestling Smackdown.

WWE Elimination Chamber Predictions

The Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View is this Sunday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I will predict the winners for the four advertised matches in this preview. I'm sure there will be a few more matches added to the card, but I'm not going to guess what the bonus matches will be.

Kane vs. Shane McMahon (Ambulance Match) - Survivor Series 2003

This week's match review was not randomly selected. I have the WWE Survivor Series 2003 Pay-Per-View event on DVD and one of the matches from that PPV was Kane vs. Shane McMahon in an Ambulance Match. The next Ambulance Match will be Kane vs. John Cena at this Sunday's Elimination Chamber PPV. I thought this was a great opportunity to review the Survivor Series Ambulance Match which was the last time there was an Ambulance Match in the WWE.

Almost Random Wrestling Match Review (February 12, 2012)

Welcome to my ALMOST Random Wrestling Match Review. I'm tired of randomly picking matches and getting matches I don't want to review. It sounded like a good idea at first, but then I had to review THREE Bret Hart matches. So I think from now on, I will review a random match and my next review will be an almost random match. How is this match review almost randomly selected? I get to pick the match I want to review, but I can choose from only 10 randomly selected matches. What I did was randomly select a number between 0 and 4 and randomly pick a number between 0 and 9. I have 445 wrestling matches on DVD so the first number means the match has to start with that number and the second number means that match has to end with that number. The numbers I picked were 2 and 5. That means my options were 205, 215, 225, 235, 245, 255, 265, 275, 285, and 295. I looked at my list to see which matches those were and I picked 255. I tried picking a match that I liked, but not a match that is very well-known. The match I will review is...

Did You Know? (February 9, 2012)

Did you know that the WWE creative team thought Chilly McFreeze was a good name for Steve Austin before he was called "Stone Cold"? Steve Austin debuted in the WWE as the Ringmaster, but he hated his gimmick. Austin wanted a cold-blooded gimmick. The WWE creative team sent Austin a list of possible names that included Chilly McFreeze, Baron Von Ruthless, and Ice Dagger. Austin didn't like any of the names. Austin got the name "Stone Cold" from his wife because she told Austin to drink his tea before it got "stone cold".

Did You Know? (February 8, 2012)

I'm trying a new column idea. This column will feature a random wrestling fact you might have not known about. I'm not sure how often I will write this column, but it's just something I might post once in awhile during the week. I would like to add more stuff to this blog during the week. I have read many wrestling books and those books usually mention something I didn't know before.

Did you know Vince McMahon wanted Mick Foley to be known as Mason the Mutilator before Foley made his WWE debut? Foley didn't like the name Mason so he offered to be called Mankind the Mutilator. When Foley made his WWE debut, he was introduced as Mankind and he was never called the Mutilator.

The Keg Stand: My Top 10 Favorite WWE DVDs

I own many WWE DVDs. I don't own as much as the fans who collect WWE DVDs but I think I have more than the average WWE fan. I'm not trying to collect them. The WWE makes good DVDs and unfortunately, they aren't shown on TV. If you want to see the new Stone Cold documentary, you have to pay to see it. Maybe the WWE Network will air some of the many WWE documentaries but until then, you have to either buy the DVD or rent it using Netflix or your cable's On-Demand service. I could rent WWE DVDs but usually I find the DVDs for so cheap that it's cheaper to buy the DVD. I got many of my DVDs at a heavily discounted price. I recently brought The Ladder Match DVD and the shipping and handling cost almost the same as what I paid for the DVD. I have so many WWE DVDs that I decided to create a list of my top 10 favorite WWE DVDs.
