How I Would Book It- Mark Henry's World Heavyweight Championship Reign

As of right now, Mark Henry has been the World Heavyweight Champion for 40+ days. That's impressive but not impressive enough. Jack Swagger was the World Heavyweight Champion for 82 days. Kane was the World Heavyweight Champion for 154 days. Randy Orton held the World Heavyweight Championship for 110 days during two reigns this year. Mark Henry's reign needs to continue and I will explain how I would book the rest of Mark Henry's World Heavyweight Championship reign.

Back in May, I explained how I would book Mark Henry's feud with Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship. I wanted Mark Henry to get a title shot but I wrote that I didn't expect him to win the World Heavyweight Championship. I was happy to see Mark Henry defeat Orton during their real-life feud in September but I expected Randy Orton to get his title back at the next Pay Per View. That didn't happen. Mark Henry defeated Randy Orton cleanly two times in a row. Now, I believe in Mark Henry. He looks like a real Champion and it is hard to believe that this is his first ever World Championship reign. The WWE has convinced me that Mark Henry is an unstoppable force so I think Mark Henry should be the World Heavyweight Champion for the rest of 2011.

Survivor Series

The next WWE PPV is Survivor Series. It is expected that Mark Henry will be facing Big Show. I would have Mark Henry win that match and go into the TLC PPV as the Champion.

TLC

At TLC, I would have Mark Henry face Randy Orton again in a tables, ladders, and chairs match. I would have Orton say that he expects to defeat Mark Henry this time but Mark Henry will cleanly defeat Randy Orton for the third consecutive time on PPV.

Royal Rumble

After TLC is the Royal Rumble. I think the Undertaker should return and be Mark Henry's opponent which would be a WrestleMania 22 rematch. Undertaker and Mark Henry would have a close and competitive match but Mark Henry would win and retain his Championship. This would lead to two storylines. The first storyline would be the Undertaker's storyline with everyone saying that Undertaker is not as good as he used to be and that his streak will likely end at WrestleMania 28. I'm not going to say any more about that storyline because that could be a good future "How I Would Book It". As for Mark Henry, his storyline would be about the WWE continuing to wonder if Mark Henry will ever lose his Championship. If Undertaker and Randy Orton can't beat him, who can?

Elimination Chamber

The next PPV would be the Elimination Chamber. The WWE Superstars and announcers would be saying that Mark Henry would have to face five other Superstars in the Elimination Chamber match and he might finally lose his Championship. The WWE Universe might agree too because they probably wouldn't expect him to be in a main event match at WrestleMania 28. However, everyone is wrong and Mark Henry wins again.

WrestleMania 28

The next PPV would be WrestleMania 28 and it has already been confirmed that Daniel Bryan will cash-in his Money in the Bank briefcase for a World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania. During the Smackdown after WrestleMania, Daniel Bryan makes it official and says he will cash-in his briefcase at WrestleMania. Everyone says that Daniel Bryan is crazy and that he should wait until after Mark Henry loses his Championship. Daniel Bryan responds by saying he's not sure when Mark Henry will lose his Championship and the contract in his briefcase expires in July. He also says that it has always been his dream to have a World Championship match at WrestleMania. During the weeks before WrestleMania, Mark Henry is portrayed as a huge favorite to win and Daniel Bryan is a huge underdog. Michael Cole reminds everyone at home during one of the Smackdown broadcasts that Daniel Bryan has been losing a lot since winning at Money in the Bank and Mark Henry has been unbeatable so there is no way Daniel Bryan will win at WrestleMania. Everyone is expecting Daniel Bryan to get squashed at WrestleMania. However when the WrestleMania match happens, Daniel Bryan does not get squashed and he finds a way to defeat Mark Henry. Daniel Bryan is the new World Heavyweight Champion! Mark Henry's epic title reign is over!

Mark Henry has been built so strong that when it is finally time for him to drop his title, he must drop it to a young Superstar who is ready for a major push in the WWE. I think Daniel Bryan is the perfect choice. I think the WWE has made Mark Henry look very strong so when he finally loses, he will make the winner look good. That is what happened when Andre the Giant lost to Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 3. I'm not saying Daniel Bryan is the next Hulk Hogan but I think he could be the #1 Superstar in the WWE someday. Defeating Mark Henry at WrestleMania would be the biggest win of Daniel Bryan's career and it could lead to a Hall of Fame career for Daniel Bryan. He needs a very impressive win to make him look like a legit Main Event Superstar and ending Mark Henry's long and dominant title reign would be a very impressive win for Daniel Bryan. That's how I would book Mark Henry's World Heavyweight Championship reign.

  1. I read that WWE wants Orton to win the RR, so I'm curious to see if that actually happens.

  2. I think the RR will be in St. Louis so that would be really interesting if that actually happens. My guess is that Orton won't win because he just won it in 2009.

  3. I remember him having Legacy's help that year. Maybe, WWE wants to show that doesn't need them to win it? These things always change, so you never know.

  4. This is exactly what needs to happen. If WWE wastes a title change just to put it back on Orton, I will be furious.

  5. Him winning the Rumble means a title shot, not the title.

Yeah they definitely can't waste Mark Henry's push on Randy Orton. He doesn't need the win.
