WWE Over The Limit PPV Preview

Welcome to my WWE Over The Limit Pay-Per-View preview. I am going to preview and predict the outcome of each match. The matches are in order of when I expect them to occur. There are currently six matches and I have included two unadvertised matches (predicted matches...no spoilers) in my PPV preview.

Zack Ryder vs. Kane (YouTube Pre-Show Match)

Zack Ryder is playing the role of Santino at the PPV. Ryder will get the crowd excited for the PPV. I want to say Ryder will win because I thought faces usually beat the heels in pre-show PPV matches, but I looked it up on Wikipedia and that is not true. Many heels have won the PPV pre-show match which is dumb because then the PPV starts with a pissed off crowd. Now that I know heels do win the dark/pre-show match before PPVs, I'm picking Kane.

Winner: Kane

Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger vs. Kofi Kingston & R-Truth (WWE Tag Team Championship Match)

I'm glad to see Dolph Ziggler is getting another PPV match, but this doesn't look like a PPV match-up. I wouldn't be very interested to see this match on RAW, so why would I want to see it on PPV? I don't see Kingston and Truth losing this match.

Winners: Kofi Kingston & R-Truth

Brodus Clay vs. [insert name here] (bonus match)

This is not an official match, but there should be plenty of time to put a Brodus Clay match on the card. I'm predicting Drew McIntyre will be his opponent. Or maybe it will be Tyson Kidd.

Winner: Brodus Clay

Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Sheamus (World Heavyweight Championship Match)

This could be a good match. I would love to see Randy Orton or Chris Jericho win, but I'm guessing Sheamus will overcome the odds and retain his title.

Winner and still World Heavyweight Champion: Sheamus

Beth Phoenix vs. Layla (WWE Divas Championship Match)

This is not the Divas match I wanted. I wanted AJ vs. Kaitlyn. Will Layla have a three week title reign? I think it will be a little bit longer than that.

Winner: Layla

Daniel Bryan vs. CM Punk (WWE Championship Match)

This should easily be the match of the night. I don't know which match would come even close to beating this match. Maybe the Fatal 4-Way match, but I doubt it. CM Punk and Daniel Bryan are the best workers in the WWE and they are facing each other tonight. These are the same two guys that co-stole the show at Extreme Rules. When you put two good workers together, you get matches like Steamboat vs. Savage, HBK vs. Taker, Cena vs. Punk, Triple H vs. Cactus Jack, and Austin vs. Rock. This match might not only be a match of the year contender, but might end up being one of the greatest WWE matches of all-time. I think CM Punk wins and I'm hoping for a 30+ minute match.

Winner and still WWE Champion: CM Punk

Ryback vs. [insert name here] (bonus match)

Another unofficial match that I expect to be added to the card as a bonus match. My prediction is that Ryback's opponent will be JTG.

Winner: Ryback

John Cena vs. John Laurinaitis

I hope everyone and myself are wrong about this match, but I doubt it. Whenever the WWE makes a win seem so certain for one superstar, the other guy usually wins. The stipulations for the match make it seem that it is impossible that Johnny Ace can win, but one of the stipulations says no SUPERSTAR can interfere. That means Big Show (fired) or Brock Lesnar (quit) could interfere in the match. As unlikely as it may seem to some, John Laurinaitis will most likely win this match and keep his job.

Winner: John Laurinaitis

I am not impressed with this PPV card, and I don't think I will watch it live. I want to see Punk vs. Bryan, but the other matches don't seem worth watching. If the Punk vs. Bryan match is good, then I will gladly buy it on DVD. Overall, Over The Limit has the potential to be this year's Capitol Punishment. It won't be worse than Capitol Punishment because Punk vs. Bryan should be a classic match which is something Capitol Punishment didn't have. But this PPV could be the worst of 2012.
