Kurt Angle vs. The Undertaker vs. The Rock (WWE Undisputed Championship Match) [Vengeance- 7/21/02]
This match has three future WWE Hall of Famers. It's amazing that ten years later these guys are still wrestling.
The Facts:
- This match can be seen on The Rock: The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment DVD and The History of the WWE Championship DVD.
- This match happened at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan. The attendance was 12,000. It is the same arena where Randy Orton won the 2009 Royal Rumble match.
- Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler were the announcers for this match.
- The Undertaker was the Undisputed Champion going into this match. He won it two months earlier when he defeated Hulk Hogan at Judgment Day.
- This match had a 19:35 time length.
- Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer gave this match a ****1/2 rating.
The match starts with Undertaker and The Rock staring at each other. Kurt Angle gets angry because no one is paying any attention to him. Angle then pushes them and they both knock Angle down with a fist to the face. That was funny. Rock clotheslines Angle out of the ring. The Rock and Taker start going one-on-one. Angle climbs onto the ring apron right when The Rock whips Taker into the ropes. Taker makes contact with Angle and Angle goes flying off the apron.
The Rock knocks Taker out of the ring. Angle attacks Taker and whips him into the steel steps. Angle is back in the ring. He hits a suplex on The Rock. Angle gets Rock in the corner and stomps on him. Then he gives The Rock some Ric Flair chops. The Rock reverses it and now Angle is in the corner. Rock gives Angle some Ric Flair chops. Rock gives Angle an Irish Whip, but Angle reverses it into a suplex. Angle hits another suplex. Rock then hits a DDT. Rock covers Angle and gets a two count. Angle leaves the ring and The Rock follows him outside the ring. Taker is still outside the ring and starts attacking the two men. Taker throws Rock back into the ring. Rock and Taker wrestle inside the ring. Angle tries to re-enter the ring, but Taker knocks Angle down before he can enter.
Taker turns around and The Rock gives Taker a choke slam! Rock goes for the cover and Angle breaks up the count. The Rock and Angle attack each other and then The Rock gets Angle in the Ankle Lock! Angle reverses it and hits a Rock Bottom! Rock Bottom by Angle! Here's the cover and Taker breaks it up. I just noticed that the referee didn't count the pin. I think the referee is Earl Hebner. The first time he tried to count, it looked like Taker got in his way. He was going to count again, but he saw Taker jumping to break up the count so he decided not slap the mat. His hand never touched the mat during the entire pin by Angle. Not only was that not a two-count, it wasn't even a one-count! So I guess that doesn't count as a near-fall. Taker starts attacking Angle and Angle then goes for the Angle Slam. Taker counters it and hits the Angle Slam! Taker hits the Angle Slam! Cover by Taker. One...two...and The Rock breaks it up.
The Rock knocks Taker down and throws Angle out of the ring. Rock hits Taker with a spinebuster. Rock hits the People's Elbow! Angle pulls Rock out the ring and slams him onto the announce table. Angle goes into the ring and covers Taker. One...two..Taker kicks out. Angle attacks Taker in the ring corner. Taker gets out of the corner and puts Angle in the corner. Taker attacks Angle with his fists and gives Angle a headbutt. Angle whips Taker into the opposite corner. Angle charges at Taker, but Taker gets out of the way. Angle dives right into the ring post! Angle is outside the ring. Taker starts attacking Angle outside the ring. Taker shoves Angle into the ring post. Ouch! The Rock is back up and he spits water at Taker. Rock and Taker fight by the announce table. Rock is down on the table so Taker attacks Angle. Taker busts Angle open! Angle is bleeding. Taker puts Angle in the ring with Angle's head on the ring apron. Taker does his patented leg drop on the ring apron.
Taker gives Angle another headbutt. Taker hits Old School on Angle. Taker goes for a cover, but The Rock breaks it up. Undertaker hits The Rock with a DDT. Cover...one...two...Rock kicks out. Angle has a chair. Taker goes for choke slam, but then he turns to punch Angle before Angle can hit him with the chair. Taker and Rock take turns punching Angle. Taker goes for a choke slam on The Rock. The Rock gives Taker a low blow. Rock falls into the referee. Angle hits Taker with a chair shot! Angle slam on The Rock! Angle hits the Angle Slam! Rock and Taker are down! Angle covers Taker! One...two...no! Angle covers Rock! One...two...no! Rock gets up and puts Angle in the Sharpshooter! Taker breaks it up. Taker hits The Rock with the Last Ride! Cover by Taker. One...two...ANGLE PUTS TAKER IN THE ANKLE LOCK!! Taker counters and tries to hit Angle with the Last Ride. Angle is choking Taker with his legs! Taker can't get out of the triangle choke. Rock breaks up the choke. Rock goes for the Rock Bottom, but Angle counters it into the Angle Lock. Rock reverses it into a pin! One...two...NO!! Angle kicks out! Taker hits Angle with a chokeslam! Rock hits Taker with the Rock Bottom!! Rock goes for the cover! One...two...TAKER KICKS OUT!! All three men are down. Angle rolls up The Rock! One...two...Rock kicks out! Angle hits Taker with the Angle Slam! Rock hits the Rock Bottom on Angle! ONE...TWO...THREE! THE ROCK WINS!!
The Rock is the Undisputed Champion and he is a seven-time WWE Champion!

That was an amazing match! The greatest triple threat match I have ever seen. Not quite a five star classic, but very close. Definitely one of The Rock's best matches and the last time (as of right now) The Rock won the WWE Championship.
I kinda miss Biker Taker.
