WWE Money in the Bank 2012 Preview

Welcome to my Money in the Bank Pay Per View preview. There are only four matches and one pre-show match announced so far. I expect at least two more matches added to the card, but I will only preview the four announced PPV matches.

World Heavyweight Championship Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Christian vs. Santino Marella vs. Tyson Kidd vs. Tensai vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Damien Sandow vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Sin Cara

There are eight superstars in this match. First, I will eliminate all the superstars who will not win in my opinion. So that eliminates Santino, Tyson Kidd, Tensai, Damien Sandow, and Sin Cara. That means Christian, Cody Rhodes, and Dolph Ziggler are the only superstars who have a chance to win this match. I doubt it will be Christian so it's between Cody Rhodes and Dolph Ziggler. I'm picking Dolph Ziggler because I think he's a little bit more ready right now for the World Heavyweight Championship than Cody Rhodes is. This should be a good match.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

World Heavyweight Championship Match
Alberto Del Rio vs. Sheamus

Sheamus has been the champion for awhile so now is a good time to start wondering when he will drop the title. It could be tonight, but then we would get a rematch at SummerSlam and I don't think Del Rio vs. Sheamus is a good SummerSlam match. I think Sheamus will drop the title soon, but it won't be tonight. I'm not expecting this to be a good match. This is a good test for Sheamus because it's his chance to prove he doesn't need to face Daniel Bryan or Dolph Ziggler to have a good PPV match. I'm hoping he proves me wrong and has a great match with Del Rio.

Winner: Sheamus

WWE Championship Money in the Bank Ladder Match
John Cena vs. Chris Jericho vs. Kane vs. Big Show

Someone at my work had an interesting theory about John Cena and this match. He predicted that John Cena will win at Money in the Bank, announce that he will face CM Punk for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam, and then become the first WWE Superstar to not become World Champion after cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase. That would be interesting if that happened because I would have never guessed that John Cena would be the first person to fail at cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase. That prediction sounds like it could happen, but for it to happen, John Cena must win tonight. So I'm predicting John Cena to win. I think this is the first time a Money in the Bank ladder match has only four participants. In my opinion, this match is either going to be an awesome Money in the Bank ladder match or one of the worst Money in the Bank ladder matches ever. I can see it going either way. There are a lot of great superstars in this match, but only Jericho has a lot of ladder match experience. Also, I don't like that Cena is the youngest man in this match and he is 35 years old. I know these four guys want to have a great match and I think they are capable of it, but I really think this could be a disappointing ladder match. The fact that this match is the most predictable match on the card doesn't help.

Winner: John Cena

WWE Championship Match
CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan with Special Referee AJ

I'm worried that this match will not meet expectations. I'm worried that AJ will be too much of a distraction and I'm worried that we will not see anything new because CM Punk and Daniel Bryan have wrestled each other like 10 times on TV this year. Fans are expecting a wrestling match, but AJ might prevent this from being a five star classic if she does more than she is supposed to do. Her job is to just call the match, and get out of the way. If she does her job correctly, the fans won't even notice her. But the problem is that AJ hates it when no one notices her because she is an attention seeking sl...I'm going to stop there before I write something I regret. This seems like a storyline match more than a wrestling match. What I mean by that is the WWE wants fans to watch to see what the outcome is and not the actual wrestling. Maybe this match can do both, but I doubt it. The outcome of the match will be more important than CM Punk and Daniel Bryan trying to have the best match possible. That's too bad because I thought this could have been match of the year, but it won't be. It won't be better than the Punk vs. Bryan Over The Limit match. This match is supposed to feel unpredictable, but it really isn't. I'm not too worried that CM Punk will lose. AJ is still considered a good girl and good girls do the right thing. She won't let Daniel Bryan cheat to win. She won't penalize CM Punk just because he turned down her marriage proposal on RAW last Monday.

Winner: CM Punk

Last year, Money in the Bank was an awesome PPV. This one won't be as good. It won't be a bad show, but I'm more interested in SummerSlam. The four main event matches all have the potential to be great matches, but three of them could be disappointments. I think the only match that is sure to be great is the World Heavyweight Championship ladder match. The other matches could be disappointing matches. Overall, it should be a fun PPV, but not one of the best PPVs of 2012.

  1. One thing the RAW MITB match has going for it is having only four people in it may focus the action.

I seriously doubt it, but I've been hearing that Cena might turn heel after this, by setting up a Summerslam match with whoever wins the DB/Punk match, but cashes it in and takes the title before the said match.
