RAW Comments (07/11/2011)

Monday Night RAW was live from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts this week. Here are my RAW Comments.

CM Punk’s opening promo was solid. I liked how he brought a megaphone to the ring with him. It makes sense that he would bring back-up with him just in case the WWE turned off his mic. I also loved how CM Punk reminded John Cena that the last time he was fired, he was re-hired by the WWE almost immediately. Good solid stuff by Punk to start the show.

Here is the video of CM Punk's opening promo. It doesn't include John Cena's appearance.

I'm also going to post the video of the second half of the promo with John Cena. I like how the WWE YouTube channel allowed fans to see a video of a Cena-less CM Punk promo and put the rest of the promo in another video. Maybe they DO care about the fans.

R-Truth talking about spiders was hilarious. R-Truth may be the funniest superstar in the WWE right now. His promos are always entertaining.

The WWE continued to promote the Big Show and Mark Henry match for Money in the Bank last night. I think it could be a decent match but it really needs to be a street fight or a tables match or something just to make it a little more interesting. They need to be allowed to use weapons and be allowed to fight outside of the ring. If it is just a normal match with countouts then I think the match could be very disappointing. It needs to be at least No Holds Barred.

The CM Punk and Mr. McMahon promo was amazing. CM Punk really looked like a face during the whole promo with McMahon and crowd was cheering everything he said. Everything Punk said was interesting and enjoyable. John Cena ruined the promo when he came out but I liked when CM Punk said that John Cena has become the New York Yankees. That is so true. Cena can’t continue to call himself the underdog anymore. If anyone is the underdog, it is CM Punk. By the way, CM Punk is a big Chicago Cubs fan and the Cubs are the ultimate underdogs. I have no idea how the Punk-Cena match will end. Maybe Punk will win and then the Money in the Bank winner will cash in but I’m really not sure what to expect this Sunday. It should be interesting.

Here is the video of the CM Punk and Mr. McMahon promo. This video is ONLY CM Punk and Mr. McMahon. Once Cena showed up, the promo was really good but not amazing.

I'm also including the video of Cena entering the ring and ruining the fun. The WWE did the right thing here. They posted a video on YouTube of ONLY Punk and McMahon and put Cena's promo in a separate YouTube video. CM Punk does cut a good promo in front of Cena so I have to include this video.

That’s all I got to say about RAW. The show was good this week but all it really did was make me wish it was Sunday already. I got a feeling this will be a long week.

I will be attending Money in the Bank and I am planning on posting live updates about the event on Twitter. I will be posting stuff like the dark match and how the crowd is reacting. If the crowd starts a “Cena Sucks” chant before the show, I’ll let you know. Also I will try to get a photo of the stage before the PPV starts and post the picture of that on twitter. 1. My issue with Punk saying that Cena is acting like the underdog is that how can Punk be considered the "underdog"? It seems to me that if Punk is "the greatest wrestler in the world" and he is playing "at home", can he really be the "underdog? Personally, I don't see either one of them as an underdog. As far as Cena goes, he's kinda like the inverted earlier Cena. Where young Cena was an underdog, he was also brash. Now, Cena is "the guy", but he's quite a bit more modest about it. He can still get fired up and is proud of himself, but doesn't feel he needs to brag about it. He almost reminds me of the anti-heel HHH. When HHH was on top(but, enough about Steph), he constantly talked about being "that damn good". Just saw RAW's rating. It's a 3.0! Yikes!

  2. I think Punk is still the underdog. He's got "home-field advantage" but he is the challenger going into this match and he hasn't won a World Title since 2009. In fact, I think Fatal 4 Way in June 2010 was the last time Punk had a World Championship match. And I don't recall Punk ever having a match for the WWE Championship.

  3. I can't wait. Cena is gonna get got! Cena was interviewed by the Chicago Tribune recently. He actually wants Chicago to boo him. What a crazy mofo!
