PWG Mystery Vortex II Review

I was supposed to review this show several months ago, but I got lazy and now I forgot most of the show. I got my match ratings saved on my phone so at least I can give you that. PWG Mystery Vortex II is a show I was going to buy on DVD during PWG's 5 for $40 sale, but this DVD was sold out. So instead, I watched it on the Highspots Wrestling Network website.

1. Cedric Alexander vs. Andrew Everett vs. Trevor Lee

This is a great PWG match. It's also a historical match because it is the PWG debuts of Trevor Lee and Andrew Everett. It's awesome to see the crowd not know who Lee and Everett are before the match and love them when the match is over. This is a must-see match.

2. "Pretty" Peter Avalon & RockNES Monsters (Johnny Goodtime & Johnny Yuma) vs. B-Boy, Willie Mack, & Joey Ryan

I can't remember anything about this match. It's mostly the local PWG guys and I'm guessing it is an ok match because I gave it more than 3 stars.

3. Anthony Nese vs. Roderick Strong

I never finished this match so I can't review it.

4. African-American Wolves (ACH & AR Fox) vs. Inner City Machine Guns (Rich Swann & Ricochet) vs. Unbreakable F'N Machines (Brian Cage & Michael Elgin)

This was a 30 minute match. Look at the names in this match. Great group of wrestlers and they had an awesome match.

5. Tommaso Ciampa vs. Chris Hero

These 2 had an amazing match for AAW in 2015. Not as great in PWG, but still a good match.

6. Johnny Gargano vs. Kyle O'Reilly

2 of my favorite wrestlers and they didn't disappoint me in the match.

7.  Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship Title Match - The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson - Champions) vs. Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent? - Challengers)

Another 4 star Young Bucks match.

8. Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship Title Match - Adam Cole (Champion) vs. Candice LeRae (Challenger)

Weak main event match. Candice is a huge underdog in this match and it's hard to believe that she had a chance to win.

Overall Thoughts: Not the best PWG show to start with if you have never seen a PWG show, but if you have a good amount of PWG shows on DVD, this is a nice show to add to your collection. It has the Young Bucks, the PWG debuts of Trevor Lee and Andrew Everett, a ****1/2 match and many of the PWG favorites like Candice LeRae, Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, Chris Hero, Willie Mack, Brian Cage, Ricochet, AR Fox, Roderick Strong, ACH and more. I would go 7.5 out of 10 for this show.
